A customer in Battle Creek, MI needed a solution to freezing and bursting pipes in their home that was causing their basement to be wet. Our solution? IceGuard. IceGuard is a grated discharge line protector for your sump pump line that can still function with a frozen underground pipe. It allows for water to leave your sump pump and be dumped outside even in freezing months. No need to worry about water in your basement in the winter with IceGuard!
A homeowner from Battle Creek contacted us about a free estimate on her basement. We drove to her home and noticed some issues with her waterproofing. We installed a SuperSump Sump Pump which is perfect for getting all of the water in the basement pumped out. The SuperSump contains a pump stand (prevents clogging of any debris in the sump liner), pump alarm (for when the basement floods), and an airtight sump lid with a floor drain in it (helps water to go down but not air to come up). Now this homeowner won't have to worry about a wet basement ever again.
After the heat from a steam cleaner damaged the floors in this home, the homeowners were forced to replace them. They called Ayers to install ThermalDry tiles, which is the only and best option for inorganic, water resistant flooring. Also resistant to water vapor and mold, these tiles are raised slightly off the floor with small pegs, so water won’t get trapped in them. They come in a variety of finishes, including a Parquet wood look as shown in this home.
In this before photo, it’s clear to see the water coming in at the wall/floor joint. WaterGuard collects this water and stops it from spreading to the rest of the basement. The specially designed piping is laid around the perimeter of the room on top of the footing of the foundation, which prevents mud and dirt from clogging the pipe. When water leaks in through the walls, it’s caught by WaterGuard and rerouted to the sump pump to discharge it from the basement.
Bowing walls and stair step cracks are clear signs that a basement's foundation needs to be looked at. This Battle Creek, MI basement showed evidence of bowing wall damage and water leaks coming in through the cracks, so we installed our wall anchor system to help solve the problem. Wall anchors are secured in outside soil to provide strength in prevention of any more bowing in the future and straighten the walls over time.
After this anchor was installed, we placed a clean, white cover overtop to keep the system discrete and give the basement a more finished look.
