When water gathered in the yard outside after a rain or snow melt, it had a way of eventually leaking through this crack. Water would run down the wall and puddle on the floor. Fortunately, this is an easy fix; although not quite so easy that you can just paint over it or inject a basic sealant from the local hardware store. These fixes are only temporary. The permanent fix is FlexiSpan. We dig out a drywell at the base of the crack a few gallons deep, fill it with crushed stone, and replace the concrete. This gives the water somewhere to flow and work back into the soil. We then inject the crack with sealant as a first defense. The crack then gets a foam layer over top followed by a section of our BrightWall paneling. Water that flows through the crack can flow down through the foam layer and into the drywell without it ever being seen or noticed. No more puddles and no more worries.
Julie called us when she noticed that a slab in her walkway was lifted, causing a tripping hazard. She wanted to add handrails to the steps but needed the walkway to be level first. We used PolyLevel to lift the concretet back to where is should be. PolyLevel is a very light but strong foam injectable. It is waterproof so it won't not wash away, it doesn't react with soil or moisture, and it has a curing time of 15 minutes so there is minimal disturbance.
These customers contacted us because the floor in their living room was sagging toward the middle of the house. There were no cracks on the basement or upstairs walls but the homeowners found that the bedroom doors were sticking. Thankfully, our SmartJack system was the perfect solution to their issue. The SmartJacks acted as supports for the sagging beams in the basement. They were installed and secured into place in the basement floor and attached to the sagging ceiling joists. Once tightened into place, the floors were stabilized and lifted back to their proper level.
This apartment complex had a problem with water seepage in two of the lower apartments. The soil outside of the wall had sunk about one foot, which left the covering on the exterior wall exposed. In order to seal off the wall and prevent water from continuing to damage the property, we installed the SentrySeal system. We first excavated a small section of soil outside of the wall to make room for the sealant. Insulation was then placed over the wall and the specialized sealant was installed to seal off any cracks or openings from the outside to prevent water from seeping in. Once we were finished, the soil was backfilled and water would no longer cause any issues for the complex.
Bill was having troubles with some water in his basement. Water was getting in from the floors and walls but he did not have standing water. He called us for a solution to dry basment floors. We installed the WaterGuard to make sure that the water was able to drain out of the basment. WaterGuard is a French drain system that is installed above the foundation but under the floor to keep it out of the zone where drains can clog. This system collects water that seeps into the basement and drains it to the sump pump. This is an effective waterproofing solution for the basement in your home.
