The living room addition floor of this Marcellus, MI home had started to slope downwards (as seen in the before photo). After lifting up the carpet to get a better understanding of the situation, the owners saw that the floor was both sinking and cracked. Lucky for them, concrete lifting is just another one of Ayers Basement Systems’ specialties.
To raise the floor, the crew pumped PolyLevel - an expanding polymer used to fill in the gaps where soil has settled - below the slab. While PolyLevel is usually used to lift concrete slabs and sidewalks, this addition’s floor was also poured concrete, so raising the floor wouldn’t affect the house’s foundation. The after photo shows the multiple different holes where the injections were made. Now, the owners can rest in this living room without fear of sinking away.
Gary and Leslie have a poured basement, and one of their exterior retaining walls had a crack. After reading many stories about Ayers, they decided to call in. After an Ayers System Design Specialist came out to assess the problem, the crew at Ayers decided on the GeoLock Wall Anchor System.
Our GeoLock Wall Anchoring System is installed into the wall and engineered to stop wall failure immediately. This system utilizes a plate buried in the ground outside of the cracked wall. A steel rod is drilled through a one-inch hole in the wall and connected to the anchor plate. A plate is then placed on the interior side and bolted in place. The plate is secured to the rod and tightened until there is pressure on the wall. The pressure created by the wall anchor will pull the wall back into place, stopping it from cracking and permanently stabilizing it!
A homeowner called Ayers with an issue with a window well that was filling up with water and leaking into the basement. One of our professional System Design Specialists evaluated the issue and came up with a solution.
After consulting with our Specialist, the homeowner decided to install a new egress window to replace the prior window. Our egress windows are constructed to withstand any storm, preventing any more leaks from entering into this home.
Water was entering a customer’s basement through his walls. Not sure how to deal with this, he called our team and we installed BrightWall. Brightwall is made of white, plastic panels that will provide a waterproof and stain-resistant surface. BrightWall will keep water from seeping through cracks in your basement walls by acting as a vapor barrier. Lastly, these walls will help brighten your basement and never need painted or any other maintenance.
The concrete in Marshall’s driveway was uneven so he called our team. To fix his problem, we installed PolyLevel, a system designed to fix concrete slabs that have sunk by using polyurethane foam that expands and has a high density in order to raise the concrete. The process is quite simple and is done by drilling small holes into the concrete and then inserting the foam into the holes. Also, the PolyLevel system is waterproof and long-lasting.
