This customer had a wall in his basement that was starting to lean inward. The block foundation walls had multiple stair-step cracks on the outside that were sure signs of wall failure.
To stabilize the wall we used the effective carbon armor system. Specialized carbon fiber straps were adhered to the wall with a strong epoxy resin. Once applied, the system was secured into place with steel brackets and the wall was immediately stabilized. These straps also help to shift the wall back to its proper position over time.
Matthew R. contacted us because his basement wall was beginning to bow inward. The basement is the foundation of your home and when it falls your entire home could fall with it. As soon as you see something like this happening its best to call in the professionals right away. Some signs to first look out for are stair step cracks, this is a way to tell right away that your wall is leaning.
Matthew's wall was not bowing in at the top or the bottom but just the center which is why our Carbon Fiber Straps were the best fix to this problem. These straps are held on by an epoxy glue. Carbon fiber is a very strong material that is impossible to stretch which is why it is great for making sure walls dont bow in any further. These straps will not straighten a wall but they will ensure the wall doesn't move anymore.
Ken needed one of his foundation walls repaired because it was cracking and bowing. So our team installed PowerBrace, a foundation repair system that secures basement walls in place. This foundation repair system counteracts the outside pressures that cause your basement walls to crack or tilt by keeping your basement walls in place. Over time, the system can be tightened to not only secure the walls in place, but to also straighten them.
John owned a 1960's home in St Joseph that was a bilevel on a hill. The exposed foundation of the home had an extensive network of stair step cracking that the owner wanted stabilized so he could begin construction for a second level. We used Push Piers because they are the best option for unknown soil conditions and reaches the greatest depth to support the foundation. The installation is fast, effective, and the soil is back filled afterwards. The piers not only stabilize the home but can lift the foundation back to the correct level.
