Cheryl and her husband John were previous customers of Ayers Basement Systems. They were so happy with the work we did last time that they wanted us to do more! The couple called Ayers for an inspection and were absolutely thrilled that we were able to squeeze them in before the end of the year. John was kind enough to already have the crawlspace dug to 8ft. so we could come in Shotcrete the walls.
Shotcrete is a sprayable concrete that stabilizes crawl space walls and fills any holes letting in unwanted water or air. First, we secure steel wiring to the walls for extra support and for something for the Shotcrete can adhere to. Next, it's applied through a high-pressure house. The extra air propelling the concrete out is what makes the Shotcrete able to be applied to vertical and sloping surfaces. Finally, we smooth out any bumps or rough parts, so it looks perfect.
Cheryl and John were ecstatic with the work we did on their home for the second time. They love Ayers and everyone on the crew! We are privileged to be able to have such amazing and loyal customers like Cheryl and John.
A crack in the garage foundation was the reason behind the call from these Grass Lake, MI customers. The before photo shows the crack running vertically down the garage from the outside, but the damage of the spreading foundation wall could be seen on to the inside of the garage as well. Having already used our services for foundation repairs in the past, they knew they could trust us for this job as well.
To seal these cracks permanently, the crew used our CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcement system. Based on the innovative technology of aerospace engineers that is now used to support bridges, skyscrapers, and bomb shelters, CarbonArmor strips are a fast repair product that offers both a permanent solution and peace of mind. Once the soil was excavated, the wall cleaned and a high strength epoxy resin applied, the strips were placed over the crack to pull the wall together and keep it that way. After giving the strips time to dry, the crew replaced the soil that missing in the after photo and assured these customers that their damaged foundation problems were over for good.
Walls in Walter’s basement were starting to bow, so he called our team. We installed PowerBrace, a foundation repair system created to secure basement walls in place. Outside pressures can often cause your basement walls to crack or tilt, this foundation repair system counteracts these pressures by keeping your basement walls in place. Over time, the system can be tightened to not only secure the walls in place, but to also straighten them.
We received a call from these Jackson, MI residents complaining about a bulging basement wall. Our system design specialist immediately identified the problem as a bowing wall, a common issue for foundations caused by added pressure from surrounding soil. Thanks to a wide variety of products, we can treat bowing walls interiorly or exteriorly. After meeting with one of our system design specialists, the couple decided they didn’t want to go through the excavation and invasiveness of an exterior solution and elected to install the PowerBrace system inside of their basement.
PowerBrace systems work by relieving the foundation wall of pressure and transferring it over to the steel beams. The beams are bolted to the floor joists in the ceiling using an adjustable bracket that will continue to force walls back to their original positions as time passes. The bottom of the beam is then attached to the concrete foundation slab. The condition of these walls will continue to improve until that “bulge” is a thing of the past.
Our customer’s floors were sagging and they were concerned about foundation settlement. Often, sagging floors are caused by columns under the floor being spaced too far away from one another, weak floor joists, or column settlement. Our team used PolyLevel to raise the floors inside of their home. Polylevel can be used for interior or exterior slab leveling, requires fewer holes for injection and is environmentally friendly.
