Our friends Ron & Sue from Battle Creek, MI were having issues with one of the walls in their basement bowing outward. With continuing observation, the couple could tell the walls condition was progressively getting worse. The crack in this wall grew to nearly half the horizontal distance of the entire wall. Ron & Sue became observably frightened about their walls future and called us in search of professional advice. To help this couple start the New Year out right we went to their home and devised a complete solution consisting of three PowerBraces. The PowerBrace system encompasses adjustable steel I-beams that secure to the joists above the foundation wall, offering revolutionary support. The PowerBrace improves the condition of bowing and cracked walls by reversing the forces of nature and allowing them to move back to their original position. With this sound solution in place, 2019 means no more foundation worries for Ron & Sue.
Nancy noticed her stone basement walls had large, deep cracks in them. The cracks allowed moisture entry, and she couldn't tolerate it anymore, so she called Ayers for help. We sent a team of professionals to her home to examine the space and see what we could do. They suggested Shotcrete, a solution that applies a concrete or mortar wet spray through a high-pressure hose to fill a form or repair damaged surfaces. Nancy loves her new walls!
When these past customers of ours noticed the large horizontal crack in the before photo, they knew something was wrong with their home’s foundation. Cracks like these normally appear when soil puts extra pressure on walls and forces them to bend inwards. The inward bending or bowing of walls can lead to a lot of foundation problems, including structural failure. To keep that from happening to this Battle Creek home, our crew installed the Geo-Lock Wall Anchor system. Aptly named, the system anchors walls against any future movements to hold the foundation in place. The Geo-Anchors are placed in strong, dependable soil about 15 or 20 feet from the walls. They are then attached to the walls using the wall plates and steel rods that run through the middle of the plates in the after photo. Even as soils continue to expand, the anchors will keep the wall steady.
One of David's walls in his basement was bowing out about six inches in the middle. So our team decided to install PowerBrace. Outside pressures caused his basement wall to move, however this foundation repair system counteracted these pressures by keeping his basement wall in place. Then, over time, the system was tightened to not only secure his wall in place, but to also straighten it.
This Battle Creek property owner was having some issues with his foundation wall bowing so he called us to find a solution to support the wall and hopefully return it to the original position. We installed GeoLock Channel Anchors to stabilize the wall. Galvanized steel and floor mounts for extra strength, our channel anchors provide an incredible durable solution that will halt all inward movement of your walls. We bore holes in hard packed soil in the yard for earth anchors and steel rods are joined to them through the wall. The channel anchor is then mounted on the other end of the rod inside your foundation wall, secured to the floor, and tightened into place.
