Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

Trevor was the elder of his church and sought to encapsulate the crawl space. Trevor contacted us at Ayers Basement Systems, and an inspection was set up and conducted. The team determined that water was leaking through the foundation and that CleanSpace would be the best solution! CleanSpace utilizes a heavy-duty plastic liner that encapsulates the entire space creating a vapor barrier. After installing the liner, any water seeping into the crawl space will funnel behind the liner and directly to the sump pump!

When your damp crawl space causes mildew to grow around the rest of the house, it’s probably time to intervene. That was this Ellsworth, MI home’s problem and the reason they sought out our help. You can see in the before photo just how messy the crawl space was and what the moisture was doing to it. The wet conditions of the crawl space had resulted in damage to the insulation and an ongoing battle with mold. All of that changed when the CleanSpace system was introduced. We answered a call from Margaret, a customer concerned about her debris-filled, weakly supported crawl space. Our crew inspected the area and suggested CleanSpace along with SmartJacks. CleanSpace is a waterproof liner with a vapor barrier that covers the crawl space floor and walls. We lay the heavy-duty liner here to protect the home from damp soil. Next, our crew installed SmartJacks to address the weak wooden support beams. The steel jacks effectively support sagging beams and can support loads of more than 60,000 pounds. We attached the support columns to a steel supplemental beam above and rested them on a sturdy base within the ground. Margaret's crawl space is practically unrecognizable with the clean, permanent solutions provided!

A customer from Afton Michigan gave us a call referring to her crawlspace that was wet and smelly. We drove to her house to take a look for ourselves and figured out the best solution to waterproof this crawlspace would be to use our CleanSpace technology.  CleanSpace is a 20 mil thick plastic liner that fits to the crawl space to completely seal the home from the earth. Polyester cord reinforcement allows for a lot of durability, to make it last longer than the home will. This liner also contains an antimicrobial additive to prevent mold. Moisture was prevalent in the windows and on the walls in this Rogers City, MI basement.
