This couple had a cottage in Boyne City. The crawl space had a musty smell but the smell was starting to permeate the home so Michele and Derrick wanted a fix so they could enjoy their home. we used CleanSpace Crawl Space Vapor Barrier to keep out humidity, water vapor, and pests. We also installed the SaniDry XP which continuously blows dry air throughout the space to keep the smell at bay. The dehumidifier also filters the air for mold spores, dust, and other small particles to keep the air clean.
The depths of this home were dark, damp and desperately needed some TLC. To stop moisture from entering the crawl space, our team installed CleanSpace. This durable, thick plastic liner seals off the home from the dirt ground and keeps water out. It’s manufactured with an antimicrobial additive, which prevents mold growth, keeping the space nice and healthy. Additionally, SilverGlo insulation panels were installed to keep the space warm. The graphite particles in the insulation reflect heat back into the space, which consequently helps keep upstairs room warm, too. The last step in keeping this crawl space dry was the installation of a SaniDry dehumidifier. This dehumidifier is just as energy efficient as its counterparts, but SaniDry removes up to 4 times more moisture from the air. Generally speaking, dry air in a crawl space equals clean air—the dehumidifier lowers humidity which also lowers the chances of mold growing. This crawl space is now dry, bright and healthy!
Our friends from Leland, MI were experiencing significant moisture issues in their crawlspace. They began noticing mold growth and rotting of the wood beams below their home. Michael & Sarah saw an Ayers Basement Systems commercial on TV and gave us a call! After assessing and diagnosing their crawlspace needs, we recommended installing our patented CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system to address the current issues being faced in the crawlspace. Michael & Sarah agreed with the effectiveness of our solution and we installed our patented CleanSpace crawl space encapsulation system in their crawlspace. The CleanSpace encapsulation product is a 20mm thick plastic lining that entirely seals off the crawl space from the harsh elements it faces below. From this point on, the days of worry and uncertainty were over. With the CleanSpace encapsulation system in place, we were able to turn this wet crawlspace into healthy and dry usable space.
Trevor was the elder of his church and sought to encapsulate the crawl space. Trevor contacted us at Ayers Basement Systems, and an inspection was set up and conducted. The team determined that water was leaking through the foundation and that CleanSpace would be the best solution! CleanSpace utilizes a heavy-duty plastic liner that encapsulates the entire space creating a vapor barrier. After installing the liner, any water seeping into the crawl space will funnel behind the liner and directly to the sump pump!
When your damp crawl space causes mildew to grow around the rest of the house, it’s probably time to intervene. That was this Ellsworth, MI home’s problem and the reason they sought out our help. You can see in the before photo just how messy the crawl space was and what the moisture was doing to it. The wet conditions of the crawl space had resulted in damage to the insulation and an ongoing battle with mold. All of that changed when the CleanSpace system was introduced. The plastic vapor barrier keeps out moisture and won’t allow mold growth. Not pictured, but also installed and helping with the battle against moisture is the crawl space dehumidifier Sanidry CX. So not only will the crawl space look dry, it will feel like it too.
