Allisa and Daniel's home was built over 120 years ago and were terrified it was going to collapse and someone was going to get hurt. Walls and floors were sinking and settling and their were cracks everywhere, so they called Ayers. Our crew determined that Helical Piers would be the perfection solution. Helical Piers are made of steel helix-shaped blades that are screwed into the soil and the piers that can be extended to the appropriate depth. They're attached to the foundation's footing so the weight is evenly distributed and the home is permanently stabilized. Allisa and Daniel were beyond grateful that they no longer have to worry about their safety and the safety of their loved ones.
Margo and Chuck recently turned their Lewiston, MI vacation property into a permanent home. They’ve been dealing with cold floors, musty smells, and mold and mildew throughout the home. This job needed professional intervention, so the couple called Ayers. Our crew came in for an inspection and determined that Margo and Chuck would need our CleanSpace Wall System as well as a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier.
The CleanSpace Wall System is a moisture barrier that uses a thick plastic liner along basement and crawl space walls to keep them dry and last decades longer. It also has antibacterial properties that prevent mold and bacteria growth. Damp air takes more energy to heat and cool. Cutting down on the moisture in the crawl space, in turn, will cut down on how much it costs to heat or cool the home. The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier automatically removes up to 100 pints of water a day from the air in the home’s basement. This system circulates the now dry air through the basement and automatically removes the leftover water so you don’t have to.
Margo and Chuck were more than satisfied with the service provided by Ayers and cannot wait to save money and breathe easier in their home.
The homeowners had a bowing wall in their basement. A bowing wall is a sign of foundation failure and can lead to more expensive damage in the future if not fixed right away.
Our professional team installed Geo-Lock wall anchors to combat the bowing wall. The Geo-Lock anchor system is installed by excavating the soil surrounding the foundation wall in order to imbed galvanized steel anchors into the ground. Those anchors are then connected to steel plates with rods on the foundation wall, immediately holding it in place. After the installation, the backfill and sod will be replaced so its like we were never even there. During dry periods you will be able to tighten the anchors to straighten the wall back to its original position over time.
Thanks to the Geo-Lock wall anchor system the homeowners wall is well on its way to being straightened!
Nan moved into her home and realized the windows in her basement didn't allow for an easy escape. Safety in her home is a top priority for Nan, so she researched and called Ayers for help. Our crew of professionals visited to evaluate the space and recommended installing an egress window. An easy escape from the basement during an emergency is integral, and our egress windows include stair steps, easy-open windows, and a polycarbonate safety cover to prevent surface falls. Nan loves her new window!
Two sump pumps, and still a wet basement? That was the case when the customer called us - wet and only getting wetter no matter what they did.
You could have a dozen sump pumps, but it wouldn't get your basement any drier than one if there was no way to get the water to them. So we installed the WaterGuard drainage system as well as a new TripleSafe sump pump, and that wet basement is going, going, gone.
