In order to get fully waterproofed, this home in Grant, MI needed our WaterGuard installed. WaterGuard is a french drain system that sits below the floor slab and rests on top of the foundation footing. What this does is keep the drainage system out of the dreaded "mud zone", where drains are susceptable to clogging.
As you can see, WaterGuard is installed around the perimeter of the basement to fully maximize its effectiveness. It's also installed with minimal invasion to the slab, and once the project is complete, new concrete is layed over the drain, making it practically invisible to you or any guests in your home. The WaterGuard also has a drain outlet directly to the sump pump and will not cause any damage to the foundation.
It's extremely important for every homeowner to have a proper drainage system in their basement, especially around this area with all of the rain and snow that we get. Thanks to WaterGuard, this Grant, MI home now has a clog-free drainage system that will help keep their basement dry all year round.
Al noticed cracks in his garage wall and worried it would eventually cave inward. He researched his options and called Ayers for help. Our professionals visited his home and recommended the Supportworks GeoLock wall anchors. This wall anchor system is designed to be heavy-duty and firmly planted in undisturbed, solid soil. The anchors from the wall and ground are connected by a steel rod, which tightens to stabilize the wall. Al is relieved he took action and got the job finished!
Fred and Caroline have tried many DIY methods to waterproof their basement. Walking downstairs and seeing water on the floor AGAIN, was the final straw. They called Ayers for an inspection and we determined that WaterGuard would work best to waterproof their home.
WaterGuard is a sub-floor waterproofing system that collects water that leaks through the walls and keeps dirt away from the foundation . It is installed along the perimeter of the basement and on top of the footing of the foundation. Concrete is poured on top and regular flooring can be placed on top.
Fred and Caroline were so glad to have their lives back and grateful they never have to worry about a wet basement again.
The homeowners had owned their home for eight years, and during that time, the support structures in the crawlspace had deteriorated significantly. Traditional support options, like piering, were considered but would have required extensive and costly renovations, including ripping up their deck, floors, and kitchen subfloors, which was impractical.
Smart jacks were installed to stabilize the crawlspace effectively without invasive renovations. This solution provided solid, reliable support, meeting the homeowners' needs without disrupting their home’s interior. They now have peace of mind with a secure foundation, and the installation was completed affordably and efficiently.
Jack was working on finishing his basement when he started to notice some moisture coming in along the cove joint. Knowing that ignoring it would only mean a bigger problem later, Jack made a call to Ayers Basement Systems and together we came up with a plan. In his basement, we installed a DryTrak baseboard drain pipe system that sits directly on the basement floor along the perimeter walls. A waterproof epoxy holds the system tightly to the floor, directing the flow of any incoming moisture through the track until it finds it ways in to the crock of the sump system where it can be safely removed from the home. Now Jack can continue to finish the basement without concerns of mold or rot in the building materials over time.
