Anita and Tim contacted us when water started accumulating in their finished basement from their existing egress window. The couple had no sump pump in place which meant that incoming water had no drainage outlet. Standing water continued to do damage to their finished basement. While an egress window is required by law in a basement bedroom, it also brings in much needed light into an otherwise dark basement. However, if installed incorrectly or without waterproofing considerations, these windows serve as yet another entry point for water and moisture. We installed two egress windows for the family. The accompanying window wells are made up of one piece so it will not collapse from backfill or allow water to leak through the well walls. It is also engineered for safety and includes a built in ladder for easy escape.
Harvey was getting a small amount of water and moisture in his basement through some cracks in the foundation. He wanted all of the problems fixed and called us to see about his options. We used the SaniDry XP dehumidifier to continuously blow dry air throughout the basement to eliminate the moisture and humidity as well as filtering the air. For the cracks, we used CarbonArmor which installs quickly and does not impact future basement wall finishing. It is made up of flexible carbon fabric straps that are attached to the wall with a high strength resin. Lastly, we installed the Basement to Beautiful Insulated Wall Panels. These prepare your wall for finished wall paneling and prevent cold spots in your basement.
In the process of waterproofing this basement in Ravenna, MI, we installed Brightwall panels to cover the severe water damage on the lower third of the block walls. In addition to covering up the horror movie look of the walls, the Brightwall panels are tied right into the WaterGuard system to help direct water to the WaterGuard and the sump pump.
Even after a basement is dried, the signs of wear and tear from water damage serves as evidence of what had once been; something no homeowner wants to remember. Water can leave stains and damage walls by mold growth or rot and decay. BrightWall panels solve these problems. The panels are quick to install as they are placed overtop of the current walls. They are waterproof, stop any water vapor from passing through, and are made from inorganic materials banishing any potential mold growth or mildew. These panels don't warp, are energy efficicent, and give your basement a more clean and bright look. A great final touch to any waterproofing job!
Terry's basement was in rough condition since water would seep through the walls. He decided to take action by calling Ayers Basement Systems. Our crew inspected the source of trouble and concluded our WaterGuard system and TripleSafe sump pump system would eradicate these leaks. WaterGuard is a subfloor drain installed along the perimeter of the basement below the walls. This solution collects the water and directs it to the sump pump. Concrete is poured over the drainage system, concealing it into the floor. We replaced his old sump pump with TripleSafe as this three-pump solution is much more efficient. The first pump will eliminate most of the water, the second is there for backup, and the final pump is battery-operated for power outages. Terry is pleased with the finished results that leave his home well-protected!
