A homeowner in Jackson, MI, reached out to us with concerns about their crawl space. Upon inspection, we found it was a haven for bugs, with moldy, deteriorating insulation hanging from the floorboards. The damp walls threatened the longevity of the home and could eventually cause mold to spread to other areas. To address these issues, we installed a CleanSpace system with drainage mats beneath it to direct water toward a sump pump, which safely moves it away from the home. The crawl space is now clean, free of cobwebs, and much more accessible. It’s brighter, offers additional storage space, and ensures the home stays protected from future moisture problems.
When finishing your basement, especially if you're turning it into a bedroom or otherwise habitable living space (i.e. an apartment), it's important to be aware of building code. You must have a properly sized window, like the egress windows we install.
While finishing their basement, our customer had us install a new egress to take the place of their small, outdated basement window. You'll have to look closely to even see it in the before picture. The difference is dramatic.
These Jackson, MI homeowners initially contacted us to repair several cracks in their foundation walls. After fixing this issue with our FlexiSpan crack repair system, we returned to the home to assist them in finishing their basement. Our basement finishing team upgraded the outdated wood paneling and carpet with new, sturdy EverLast cement board wall panels and ThermalDry tile. This tile is the only plastic, all-inorganic subfloor in the world, preventing mold growth and providing a durable, yet appealing floor. With new walls and flooring, this basement received a facelift that will keep it a dry, comfortable living space for years to come.
A customer in Jackson had some unlevel steps and walkway in his front yard. We came to the rescue with our PolyLevel technology. We injected this expanding polymer into the concrete slab which then supports and levels the concrete stronger than ever, within minutes. Now that this walkway is level. The homeowner can have peace that nobody will trip due to unlevel concrete at their home.
This customer called because their discharge line was redirecting water back into their basement. The end result was that the basement flooded and without a sump pump system, there isn’t an effective way for the water to exit the home.
We redirected the discharge lines and installed both the TripleSafe sump pump system and the WaterGuard system to begin waterproofing their basement.
The TripleSafe sump pump system supports three sump pumps in one liner to ensure water is efficiently pumped out of your basement. The first pump is an effective pump that will do most of the work. The second pump is higher in the liner and automatically turns on if the first pump cannot keep up. The third pump is a battery-powered pump that will ensure the sump pump is working even if the power goes out.
We also installed the WaterGuard system that is used to further waterproof a basement by ensuring any water leakage will filter into the pipe and exit into the sump pump. The system is installed in the perimeter of the basement and is placed slightly away from the wall to ensure any water from wall leaks will have room to filter into the pipe and exit into the sump pump.
These owners can be assured they will have full protection against flooding in the future!
