Performing an Inspection
As seen above, the foundation was crumbling, and cracks were quite prevalent. Our team suggested GeoLock wall anchors and the SmartJack system. These systems will work together to provide Megan with a lasting solution.
Preparing for the SmartJack
Since Megan's floor was sagging, our team suggested the SmartJack system. A hole must be dug out and concrete poured in to create a load-bearing base. Once the concrete is dried, a liner and base plate is placed for the next step.
Placing the Jack
Once the base was set, our crew could finish installing the SmartJack system. Steel support beams attach along the floor joist, allowing steel columns to be connected. Once the systems were set, Megan's floor was leveled and stabilized!
Implementing GeoLock Wall Anchors
The team at Ayers suggested GeoLock wall anchors to prevent the foundation from further bowing. This system utilizes an anchor plate in the ground to pull the wall back into place. As shown above, A steel rod is drilled through the foundation and the ground until it meets the plate.
Tightening the Anchor System
Once our crew had implemented the anchor plate and steel rod, a low-profile wall plate could be installed. When tightened, this plate tightens onto the rod, creating a pulling pressure on the wall. Megan was relieved after working with Ayers as her home was now stabilized!
