Preparation For a SmartJack
Once the team at Ayers determined where the jacks should be set to stabilize the home permanently, the installation crew began the project. The crew starts by breaking apart the cement and digging a fairly deep hole for the base of the SmartJack. Concrete is poured into the hole, creating a base for the jack that can withstand more than 60,000 pounds!
Setting the Base
Once the concrete has dried with the base of the jack within it, the surrounding area around the floor is filled back in with rocks and will later be covered with cement. Once the bottom of the jack is set and secured, the steel columns for the rest of the jack can be cut and prepared.
Finalizing the SmartJacks
Once the steel columns for the jacks are cut to the correct height, they are attached to the base of the home's jack and the floor joist. Lastly, the Bases of the jacks are covered back up with cement, creating a finished look. Once the SmartJacks are set and secured, they can be adjusted to raise the home's floors. For Matt, his house was leveled and permanently stabilized. Matt no longer needs to worry about structural issues!
