Foundation Repair Photo Album: Installing CarbonArmor in an Ionia MI Home

The Ionia homeowner called us beucae they had an issue with their basement walls and water leaking. They had vertical cracks on the walls that were not leaking into the basement. Their garage floor extends over the basment. There are cracks in the floor where water gets in and drips into the basement. This has been happening for too long and they wanted a fix. The garage floor had settled so we used PolyLevel Injection Foam to raise the floor back up. PolyLevel is very light but strong so it can support the weight of cars or storage. It is also waterproof so that it wont wash away and cures quickly so you can be back on the ground in no time! To stabilize the walls in the basement we installed CarbonArmor. The CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcing System is made up of flexible carbon fiber fabric straps that are up to 10 times stronger in tension than steel. The straps are bonded to the walls using high strength epoxy resin. This system requires no exterior excavation, installs quickly, and won't impact future basement finishing.

Pulling Away

The garage has cracked and settled so much that it is starting to pull the away from the wall. This could be the reason that a lot of water is getting into the basement. This separation could also cause other issues if not fixed.

Unlevel and Cracked

This garage floor is cracked and uneven. The foundation could settle more causing the cracks to get bigger which is never good.

Water in the Cracks

Here you can see cracks and a lot of water on the ground from rain. This is also how water could be getting into the basement. The more pressure that is put on the cracks, the worse they get, which allows more water in.

Wall Cracks

On the left side of the wall, there is a vertical crack. This is one of many on the basement walls. The walls could get worse so you don't want to wait to get them fixed!
