Stabilizing and Lifting Sunken Floors in Clare MI

Challenge

Greg and Karey noticed that their floor was separating from the wall in their home. They really wanted the floors to be better than they currently were but would be even happier to have them lifted back up. The couple had other contractors come out but none seemed to diagnose the problem correctly, until us that is.

Justin went to inspect the home and found that the crawl space foundation was settling which was causing the floors to slope. They were so happy to have a correct diagnosis and even happier to know we had the perfect solution to keep their home safe.

Solution

Al and his crew installed SmartJacks to stabilize the sinking floors and lift them back up to the correct level. SmartJack Crawl Space Support Posts are made of steel beams that are attached to the floor joists and cemented into the ground. Once the posts are installed, the posts are adjusted to lift the floors. The floors can be adjusted at any point, if the home needs it, to ensure a permanent solution.

Greg and his wife were excited to finally have supported floors and happy to have a safe home!

The floors were separating from the walls inside the home but in the crawl space, you could see the floor joists pulling away from the foundation.

Some other areas in the crawl space, you could find the support beams lower than they should as if they were slipping off the wall.

The posts stabilize the floor but can be adjusted to lift the floor to a level position. There is a stable base and attached to the floor joists above.
