The Before
This was the crawl space before we got started insulating and encapsulating it. As you can see it is dirty and not much of a usable space even though there is a plastic cover put down over the dirt floor.
Why is it so Cold?
The reason the home can not maintain its temperature is because the insulation they had in the crawl space is falling out of the ceiling and not on the walls. Due to there not being anything in-between the floor of the home and the ground, heat can escape and cold air can come in.
First Layer
This is the Drainage Matting which directs water to flow to the sump pump where it will be discharged outside the home. The insulation, TerraBlock, goes on top of this and under the liner to keep the home at the correct temperature.
Finished Product
This is what the final product looked like after we put in insulation and the CleanSpace liner. It is now a usable space, comfortable to be in, and dry!
