Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Eliminating Severe Leaks in Reading, MI Basement

Kathy and Stephan recently went into their Michigan basement because of a tornado warning when they realized severe leaks. They contacted us at Ayers Basement Systems to find a permanent solution for their space. Our team concluded from an inspection that the water was leaking through the home's foundation, and internal draining measures were suggested.

Installing an Internal Drain

Kathy and Stephan opted to install the WaterGuard system. WaterGuard is a French drain system that sits below the basement floor and above the home's footing keeping it out of the mud zone. Any water leaking into the house will be caught by the drain and funneled out!

Providing Maximum Precautions with TripleSafe

Since the couple did not have a sump pump present, they opted for the TripleSafe unit. TripleSafe utilizes three different pumps within one liner for maximum precautions. The third pump in the liner is attached to an external battery in case of a power outage, so the pump will still work. Any water caught by the WaterGuard system will be funneled to this pump and out of the home!

Utilizing our CleanSpace System

Since our inspection had shown high moisture levels, we suggested the CleanSpace system. This system utilizes a heavy-duty liner that creates a moisture barrier when installed. Any water leaking through the foundation will go unseen as it funnels behind the liner!

Finalizing the Installation

Lastly, the couple opted to install the SaniDry dehumidifier to ensure that moisture would not be a problem. The SaniDry unit removes 10x more moisture from the air than an average household dehumidifier. Kathy and Stephen's space was transformed after working with Ayers!
