Installing WaterGuard For Wall Leakage
WaterGuard is a French drain system installed between the home's footing and the basement floor. The drain system is installed around the whole basement and catches any water seeping in from the walls and sends it directly to a sump pump. Unlike other drains, the WaterGuard system is out of the mud zone eliminating the chance of getting clogged. Any water coming into Sandra's basement through the walls will no longer be a problem!
Load Bearing Plates For GeoLock Wall Anchors
As seen above, the load-bearing plates used by the GeoLock Wall Anchor System are capable of withstanding immense pressure. The design of the plates allows maximum anchoring capabilities, allowing walls within the home to be straightened and stabilized.
Saving Bowing Foundation Walls
The foundational walls within Sandra's basement were bowing. Thus, water could find its way through them. To fix this problem, GeoLock Wall Anchors were installed in the home. This system utilizes a load-bearing plate buried inside the ground to anchor to the unstable walls. A steel rod connects the in-ground plate to a plate on the wall, which tightens the plates together and creates a pulling pressure on the wall. The wall will be straightened over time and permanently stabilized!
Utilizing CarbonArmor For Structural Integrity
CarbonArmor utilizes a durable carbon fiber strap that can permanently stabilize a foundation wall, stopping it from bowing. CarbonArmor is stuck to the wall with adhesive; however, the adhesive penetrates the cement and creates a powerful bond. The carbon strap is also attached to the floor joist above the foundation for extra security. CarbonArmor was an excellent solution for Sandra's home as it prevents foundation walls from further bowing!
Installing A Sump Pump
Sandra's home did not have a sump pump present before contacting Ayers. Thus, any water leaking into the basement had no way of being pumped out. The team at Ayers installed TripleSafe, a sump pump that utilizes two powerful pumps within the same liner. The lower pump runs all the time, and the second pump will kick on and begin pumping water if an issue occurs. In the event of a power outage, the second pump is connected to an external battery and will pump water away from the house. The TripleSafe sump pump was perfect for Sandra's home, as any water that enters the basement will be pumped away!
