Signs of Water Intrusion in Benton Harbor
The first thing we noticed was the walls that started to crack because of water coming through. Someone tried to patch the walls but this is just a temporary fix. On the floor in the corner you can see water that is still remaining because it doesn't have anywhere to drain.
Where There's Moisture There's Probably Mold
Once you can visibly see mold such as in this picture that means its a serious problem. This happens when moisture in a basement is not properly taken care of which is why our team was called in.
Windows are a Common Place Water Gets in
This window is letting in a lot of water to this basement. The best windows in a basement are ones that can't open and have double panes. Windows let in drafty, cold air in the winter and on those hot summer days they let moisture in.
The Cement Perimeter of the Basement Gets Removed
The first step in the WaterGuard system is to dig a drain trench and install the drain pipes. Don't worry though, we make sure to re-concrete and leave your basement dry and looking great.
WaterGuard is the Best Interior Drainage System
In order to keep the excessive amounts of water out of this home we installed our WaterGuard system. It goes around all of the corners and walls to ensure it literally does the entire perimeter.
The Water is Directed to the Sump Pump
The idea of the WaterGuard system is that all of the water that enters will be directed towards the sump pump. The sump pump will then pump the water outside. A good sump pump is also the key to this system working. We offer 3 great pumps for all basement needs.
High Traffic Doorways Need a Proper Drain
Any door or stairway that leads to the outside needs a trench drain installed that can keep up with the water thats tracked in. The trench drain is flush with the floor so it flows easily with a WaterGuard system and doesn't cost any extra.
We Replace the Concrete that was Removed
Once the drainage system is installed we go back through and replace the concrete. We want to leave your basement looking better than it did before we got there.
