Mindy and Gordon came to Ayers seeking solutions for their problematic basement. The basement would get wet and sometimes even soaked, causing water damage. Although there was a sump pump in one part of the basement, it appeared that it wasn't doing enough. After an inspection of their home, the Team at Ayers suggested installing the SuperSump with the addition of WaterGuard.
The SuperSump sump pump utilizes a powerful Zoeller pump capable of pumping water out of the basement consistently. The consensus from the inspection determined that not only was the pre-existing pump being overloaded, but the water wasn't funneling to the pump correctly. Thus, WaterGuard was also installed, a French Drain system buried between the basement floor and the home's footing. Once installed, any water that seeps into the basement through walls or the floor will be collected by the drain and funneled toward the sump pump. These two products offered a permanent solution for Mindy and Gordon as their sump pumps won't get overloaded, and the WaterGuard system would funnel any water to the pumps!
You have to have a downspout that gets the excess water away from your foundation, but who said it has to be clunky and annoying? Typically these discharge lines are a tripping hazard and have to be moved to mow the lawn in the summer. In all reality, they're just a big pain in the butt. We now offer a way to bury these lines, if you place our LawnScape outlet at the end. The cover can also be unscrewed to remove any debris that might get in the way of water being able to drain. The LawnScape outlet is very inexpensive and can really clean up the look around your house.
After waterproofing this customer’s home a few months back, we received a call asking us to come back out to Lansing, MI and help with the finishing job they were doing. The owners had plans to create a bedroom in the basement for the family and needed to upgrade several aspects of the basement, including their windows. Egress replacement windows, like the one seen in the after photo, are perfect for finished basements because they look just like windows in any other finished room and offer an alternative escape route in the event of an emergency. Not only that, as you can see, the egress windows are much larger and allow more light to filter into the basement. The waterproof well will keep the window protected while allowing it to do what windows are meant for, brightening up rooms.
Richard had an egress window installed into his basement. While it was great for safety and the natural light that would come in, it began causing water problems. Whenever it rained, the well of the window would fill up with water, bringing worry to Richard that it may start leaking into the basement. After using a temporary solution to cover up the window, he decided to call Ayers to see what could be done. A specialist at Ayers came out to inspect the window and determined that an egress window cover and lid would be perfect for the job. Installing the window cover required the crew at Ayers to dig down and around the old window to allow access to install the cover. Once the window cover was installed and buried, and the top was fasted and secured, no more water could get into the window well. Richard was happy to have found a permanent solution for his widow while eliminating the eyesore it once was!

Our TripleSafe pump that was installed is the king of all sump pumps. It has 3 pumps and a battery for those emergencies when the power goes out.
