Sharon had a partial basement waterproofing system installed by another company several years ago. Now she was looking to have a system installed throughout so that the basement can stay completely dry. Our team installed a WaterGuard perimeter drainage system along the walls, tying into the existing system to create one continuous protective unit. WaterGuard is a french drain system that sits on the home's footing and gathers moisture along the base of the wall and directs it inconspicuously to the sump pump system.
Joan called about a wet area of her basement. It was just a small area a few feet in width that was seeing water coming in. With an existing sump pump the fix was quite simple. Along the wet wall, we installed our WaterGuard drainage system. This required a small portion of the drywall, about 2 feet up from the ground, to be removed. We then removed some of the concrete floor to reveal the home's footing. The drain was set in place right on the footing and conrete was replaced over top. WaterGuard will collect moisture from the walls and from the seam where the floor and walls meet. The drain is then tied into the sump pump system to allow for that moisture to be removed from the home. The drywall was replaced and now the basement is safe from the puddles that had been plaguing it for months.
Chris had several issues in his basement that stemmed from water damage during heavy rains. Damp, musty smells, and wet floors were causing Chris unnecessary stress! He decided to call Ayers for professional waterproofing solutions. Our crew inspected the damaged area and determined our WaterGuard system would resolve these leaks. WaterGuard is a subfloor drainage system that collects the water leaking through the walls. The placement along the perimeter of the basement and below the walls ensures this. We hooked the system to his sump pump, so the water gets directed there rather than the floor. To conceal the drain, we pour concrete on top. Chris is ecstatic with the results and is glad he doesn't experience any more musty smells or damp floors!
If you’re like the owners of this home in Kalamazoo, MI, and experience water in your basement when it rains, it’s time to call in the professionals.
It’s likely that your basement would benefit from a drainage system to eliminate and prevent a wet basement. WaterGuard, a patented subfloor drainage system, might be your best bet. Often times most drainage systems are placed alongside the footing, and get clogged with dirt the second that water leaks from the walls. WaterGuard, however, is an efficient, long-lasting piping system that’s installed on top of the footing, this way wet dirt can’t enter. This pipe collects water from any wall leaks and leads to a large drain outlet to the sump pump.
Installing a drainage system around the inside of your basement intercepts any water before it can get to the center of the room, keeping the space dry and usable.
