Inspecting the Home
As seen above, water had become quite an issue and had definitely caused damage. This room is the wine cellar room, and over the past couple of years, had progressively got worse. The team at Ayers determined that the water was leaking down the foundation walls, and the best option was an internal drain system.
Removing Concrete For the Drain
Once Steve and LeeAnn opted for the TrenchDrain system, the installation crew at Ayers got to work! Since the drains will sit below the basement floor and above the home footing, concrete has to be removed for placement.
Preparing to Place TrenchDrain System
Once the concrete was broken up, the crew removed all the remaining pieces. Once the concrete was removed the team could prepare to place the drain system.
Implementing Internal Draining Systems
Steve and LeeAnn opted for the TrenchDrain System and CleanSpace liner. CleanSpace uses a heavy-duty plastic liner that lines the walls, creating a vapor barrier. The liner will now catch water, funneling behind it to the TrenchDrain System. TrenchDrain is a French Drain System that stays out of sight below the basement floor and above the home footing.
Finalizing the Installation
Once the TrenchDrain system was placed, the Grated Draining Pipe was installed, allowing any water from the floor to drain to the sump pump. Additionally, The top of the drain lid can be removed to remove any debris from the drain if necessary. Steve and LeeAnn were thrilled with the system, as water will now be caught by the liner and funneled to the drain, which will go to the sump pump!
