Chipping Paint=Sign of Water
This is a sign of water damage. Paint chipping, bubbling, or peeling could mean you have water coming into the area. Water can cause lots of issues and it's best to get it looked at and fixed right away!
Take a Closer Look
This is one of the cracks that the home had in the basement. With the different colors around it, it might be hard to spot from far away but over time it could get bigger and cause more damage.
Signs of Damage
As you can see here, during our inspection of the basement we made some notes of what we found. Here we see that there was water damage and because of that, there is now rust. It is a good thing these homeowners called us!
Uneven Support Beams
These beams that support the floor above are uneven. The one closest to the pipe looks as though it might be dipping. These beams being uneven result in uneven floors upstairs and could get worse if not supported.
WaterGuard Placement
The WaterGuard is a French drain that goes around the perimeter of the basement to collect the water that seeps in. It is under the stairs and through the wall as you can see to make sure no water gets in your basement.
Sump Pump to the Rescue
This is the DoubleSafe Sump Pump System and you can see the WaterGuard goes right to it so that the water can be expelled out of the home keeping the area dry!
Stopping Cracks in their Place
You can see the wall starting to bow in this picture. The black fabric you see on the wall is the CarbonArmor which will stop the bowing from getting worse.
Solid Support
The SmartJacks get cemented into the floor to gives it a strong, study base. This allows the beams to support the floors above and not be moved.
Putting Floors Back to Normal
These are SmartJacks after installation. You can see the cement is poured back over the base of the posts and the drain to give a clean finish to the basement. These posts will stabilize the sloping floor and return it to the correct level.
