Photo Album: Fixing a Settling Home in Grand Rapids MI

We were called to a home that has been settling since 2002 and the cracking has gotten much worse. It can be seen from the inside of the garage as well as outside. We used Helical Piers to fix this settling issue. Helical Piers are great at stabilizing the foundation and can be helpful in storing it to the original position. Sections can be added to it for greater depth into stable soil, to better stabilize foundations, if needed. Helical Piers also have fast, year-round installation.

Cracking Inside the Garage

As seen in this picture, there is a crack at the top of the stairs on the wall. Cracking in walls is a sign of foundation settling.

We Can See the Light

This is a closer look at the crack in the previous picture. The settling is so bad that you can see light from outside through the crack. You don't want to be able to see through a crack so if you are noticing cracks on your walls, give us a call.

Staircase Cracking

You can see the staircase cracking in the bricks of the garage wall. Staircase cracking on bricks and block walls is a very good sign of foundations settling.

Cracks on the Foundation Wall

This is the back of the house and next to the garage. There is cracking here because it is next to the are of the house that is settling.

No More Cracks

This is a Helical Pier installed under the corner of the garage . This will keep more settling from happening which keeps the cracking from getting even worse.
