Our customer called because the house she'd been renting out for a few years wasn't fit for the real estate market, and she wanted to sell. The basement had major water problems, which of course led to mold. In addition to being an eyesore, it was becoming a health hazard and something no one would take on without major contingencies, aka headaches and expense for her. Since the basement didn't have a sump pump, that was the first step. We installed a Super Sump pump and a full perimeter of WaterGuard below-floor drain to proactively drain and discharge the water. We also installed Brightwall panels on the affected walls, which will make it more appealing but also allow water to drain without warping.

All of that black stuff? It's mold. It also highlights the stairstep cracks in the wall. While the mold is worst at the floor, where water collects, there are signs of it all the way to the ceiling. That towel should probably get thrown away.
