This customer was getting ready to try and sell his home, but he knew that the small crack in his basement wall would make it difficult. Another company claimed to have solved the problem using a simple seal, but whenever it rained or he washed his deck, the crack would still leak. Knowing how troublesome small leaks like these can be during a sale, our system design specialist took a trip to Eaton Rapids to offer the owner a permanent solution.

Using our FlexiSpan system, a two-layer polymer, the crew was able to seal this crack and prevent it from being noticed. The process was pretty simple. To start, the crew excavated part of the basement floor directly under where the leak to install a drainage system. You can the system in the after photo (the crew replaced the concrete after the photo was taken). Next, the first layer of polymer was put into the crack to create a flexible seal. This layer will stop almost all water from entering into the basement. Lastly, the second layer of polymer was put over this section of the wall to provide a drainage route for any water that is strong enough to penetrate the first seal. The moisture will flow behind the drainage layer and into the drainage system for discharge. With a permanent solution to his leakage issue, this house is now ready for the market.
