Basement Waterproofing Before & After Photos

Michelle recently moved into a new home and realized it didn't have basement windows. For safety reasons, this was concerning, so she researched her options and called Ayers for help. We sent a team of experts to her home to evaluate and recommend a solution. They suggested installing an egress window to provide a safe and quick escape during an emergency. Egress windows are designed to withstand pressure from dirt and water, include stair steps for easy evacuation, and the polycarbonate safety cover reduces surface falls. Michelle loves her new plan!

Discharge lines can seem like a necessary evil. You need to drain water away from your home, but they're so ugly. Also your kids can trip over them, and they make mowing the lawn a nightmare.

But by installing a Lawnscape outlet at the end of your discharge line, you can bury it without the risk of water backing up. And as you can see below, you'll barely know it's there.

Rudy lives in Indiana but has a rental property here in Michigan. He's looking to sell the property but had to address some foundation issues first. The basement walls have had a crack that has only been getting larger the past 3 years as well as bowing walls. Rudy called Ayers for an inspection and we determined that PowerBraces would be the best solution for his foundation. 

PowerBraces are steel supports that secure to the joists above the foundation. They evenly distribute the weight of the home, strengthening the foundation over time. Rudy will be able to sell the home no problem now, at a much higher price!

With the concrete moved away, the WaterGuard set in and the drainage stone laid down, the final step is to cover the system with a new layer of cement. The cement will cure and the basement will look good as new, but with one difference: no more unwanted water.

The before photo shows one of the multiple large cracks in the storage area of this basement. All of the cracks reached from the floor to ceiling, so the owner naturally related the moisture presence in the basement to the leaks. In the after photo, you can see the solution to the cracks. The crew needed to cover 3 different cracks with the FlexiSpan System. FlexiSpan is a two-layer polymer that will plug the leaks and provide a route for any seepage that does occur. The final destination for that seepage is also seen in the after photo. Below the freshly poured concrete rests a drain well that will escort water permanently out of the basement.
