Louise was dealing with a weak and rotting wooden support system in his crawl space as well as mold growth. He wanted to get this solved right away so these issues wouldn't worsen over time, so he called Ayers. We had our customer care team set up an appointment for Louise after our crew determined from the free inspection that he would need CleanSpace and SmartJacks.
With CleanSpace this thick, durable, and waterproof plastic liner covers the crawl space floor and will provide the vapor barrier he needed for this space. The vapor barrier property ensures mold or bacteria will not flourish. Then we went ahead and installed SmartJacks which is a supplemental support system meant for crawl spaces that will support sagging beams and floor joists. It is installed by attaching steel support beams to the floor joists and a sturdy base at the floor. Louise was grateful for these new installations that work together to keep his home safe!
Mike called Ayers after noticing the cracks in his uneven driveway were getting worse. After our crew took a look at these issues it was settled that he needed PolyLevel and NexusPro Crack Repair. PolyLevel will lift and level the concrete with its lightweight foam injection. Then NexusPro Crack Repair was used to actually seal the cracks with its silicone sealant that is designed to withstand harsh weather. This sealant and foam remedy will fix these issues much quicker and more conveniently for him. Mike was happy to have his driveway leveled and sealed up to protect his home!
Tom's house started smelling musty upstairs, and he wasn't sure how to identify the cause. After researching his options online, he called Ayers to learn about our waterproofing solutions. We sent a team of professionals to his house, and they recommended installing the CleanSpace vapor barrier. Crawl space moisture and mold growth can cause nasty smells upstairs. CleanSpace aims to eliminate moisture, prevent mold growth with antimicrobial-lined material, and withstand wear from walking and crawling upon it. Tom can't believe how fresh his house smells!
The back wall of this Laingsburg, MI garage was starting to crumble. Resting on a hill, this rental property had several horizontal and vertical cracks running through it caused by expanding soil putting pressure on the walls. When walls begin to push inward due to lateral pressure, they’re referred to as bowing.
The steel beams in the after photo are a part of the PowerBrace Wall Repair System. By attaching the beams to the ceiling with a bolt attachment and bracketing them to the floor, the beams are able to push back against the wall and straighten it to its original position. Once installed, the beams can be tightened at a later date to continue to improve wall conditions. Now, any pressure put on the walls will no longer threaten the foundation.
The basement in the before photo had just been redone to stop water from leaking into the finished area. The owners wanted to complete the repairs by giving the basement a window that would highlight the finished features. As you can see in the before photo, the old window was barely visible from the outside and certainly didn’t offer a lot of sunlight on the inside. The window in the after photo is our egress replacement window. Our crew had to excavate the soil to make room for the window and its accompanying well. The larger window will allow more light to enter the basement while the well protects it from water and the elements, so leaks like before won't happen again. Note: the soil around the well was filled back in before the installation was completed.
