Denise had noticed stair step cracks on her basement wall and took the issue into her own hands. She filled the cracks with traditional sealant because it was advertised as a quick fix. Luckily, she called us because stair step cracks are a tell tale sign of foundation issues and there is no "quick fix" for foundation problems.
Our team determined that her basement walls were still in the early stages of cracking. This meant that our team could install Wall Anchors, which are braces that hold your wall still and will prevent the issue from getting worse. These wall anchors are a permanent solution for Denise's stair step cracks and our team even covered the the cracks to make her basement more appealing.
Brittany just moved into her Charlotte, MI home and was looking to address the water problems she noticed in the basement. She called Ayers to look into possible solutions. We sent a crew to inspect the leaks and it was decided she would need our WaterGuard System, SuperSump Plus, along with our IceGuard.
The WaterGuard System will be a great defense against these leaks as it is a sub-floor drainage system installed around the perimeter of the basement and will collect water or dirt. This will be concealed with concrete poured over the system and if she wants, Brittany can have regular flooring installed over this. The SuperSump Plus will pump out 2200 gallons of water each hour, it is perfect for the occasional water leak in basements. Lastly, we installed our IceGuard outside her home to protect her drainage lines from getting clogged or frozen. This will ensure her system holds up in the cold weather.
Brittany was ecstatic to get these water issues taken care of so she could start enjoying her new home, worry-free of these troubles!
Mary recently realized the windows in her basement didn't allow for an easy escape. The windows wouldn't open, so she researched her options and called Ayers for help. Our crew of professionals stopped by her house to evaluate the space and recommended installing an egress window. The ability to escape the basement during an emergency is paramount, and our egress windows include stair steps, easy-open windows, and a polycarbonate safety cover to prevent surface falls. Mary loves her new escape plan!
A new leak was discovered in the basement, where water was seeping in along the west wall at depths ranging from 0.5 to 3 inches. Despite the nearby sump hole, which remained inactive with no water entering it, our team swiftly intervened. We installed BrightWall panels and accessories to establish a waterproof barrier on the walls. To manage water flow along the basement floor and walls, we implemented WaterGuard and FlowGuard systems. These systems were reinforced with concrete and stone and supplemented with ice guard to prevent freezing issues. This comprehensive approach effectively maintained a dry basement and secured the foundation, successfully resolving the water seepage issue.
While preparing to sell their house, our customers were told by a home inspector that they had to get a few cracks in the basement wall repaired before he could clear it. They hadn't gotten it looked at before because there was hardly any water coming in, but hardly any isn't "none," so they knew they had to take his advice.
We installed two FlexiSpan wall crack repair systems, which will seal the cracks and are flexible enough to move with the wall as water leads it to shift.
