This customer first called us years ago in need of a sump pump. They decided to go with another company at that time, but we heard from them again a few months ago. They didn't like the sump pump the other company had installed and were concerned that it wasn't working, putting their finished basement in danger.
We installed a TripleSafe sump pump to ensure that any incoming water would quickly be discharged, and upgraded the electrical panel so that the pump didn't interfere with the rest of the house.
Moisture and humidity were both regular visitors to this Mason, MI crawl space. Not only was the moist, humid air threatening the foundation with mold growth, the air that enters into the crawl space was also traveling throughout the home. By adding insulation and an encapsulation, the crew was able to plug up the air leaks and simultaneously improve the quality of the air inside of the home. The plastic liner used for the encapsulation in the after photo is the CleanSpace vapor barrier. While CleanSpace protects the crawl space from any moisture that may try to rise from the crawl space floor, the SilverGlo Wall panels are the last line of defense against air flowing between cracks in the brick walls. The bright silver material reflects heat back to the source, improving the energy efficiency of the home, as well. Lastly, the crew filled in the last remaining gaps that weren’t covered by either the SilveGlo insulation or CleanSpace encapsulation. The foundation had begun to settle and cause a shift between the crawl space rim and the floor joists above. Using Froth Pack (the white spray in the after photo), the crew gave the last of the leaks a waterproof foam seal. With a full crawl space system working together, moist air won't be a problem in this crawl space again.
Greg called us because he wanted his dirt floor crawl space cleaned up and insulated before winter. This crawl space is very small but our team can get in most tiny places with no problem. Our CleanSpace encapsulation is installed to cover the floor and the walls. It doesn't allow water/moisture in and can help reduce energy costs. CleanSpace is also very durable and can have boxes stored on it with no problem.
The block wall in the before photo had been leaking into the home quite a bit. The space between the blocks created easy access for groundwater to break through. You can even see where the water had stained the wall on its way down. Our fix in the after photo is the BrightWall system. The white panels of BrightWall are a moisture barrier system that keeps water out of view in the basement. As water leaks in through the block wall, it will be escorted down the wall and into a drainage system that sits in the foot and wall joint. The perimeter drainage system WaterGuard sits under the footing of the ground and will carry the water out to be discharged. As a system, BrightWall will solve the leaking problems that this basement has been dealing with for a long time.
This Mason, MI home had cut stone foundation walls which were constantly leaking water into the basement. Frustrated, the homeowners contacted Ayers fora waterproofing solution to their problem. We visited the home and got right to work installing WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. This subfloor drainage system sits on top of the footing, and collects any water that might enter through the walls. The water is then rerouted from WaterGuard to the sump pump where it’s then pumped out of the basement and away from the nome. Now these Mason residents can have peace of mind knowing that WaterGuard has got their leaky walls handled.
