After the owner of this house passed away, her son in law decided it was time to say goodbye to the home as well. The only problem was the basement flood problems, twice in the past few years, the owner had gone downstairs to discover water pooling up to almost 4 inches. Determined to take care of the problem before he listed the home on the market, the owner gave us a call.
With a perimeter drainage system being installed to collect any water in the basement, it became necessary to provide a way for discharge as well. Based on the recommendation of our system design specialist, the homeowner elected to go with the SuperSump seen in in the after photo. Once the ground was excavated, both the sump pump and a WaterGuard Drainage system were installed. Water that floods into the basement will be directed to the SuperSump by WaterGuard and then pumped out. The SuperSump is extremely effective and capable of pumping out over 2,000 gallons of water per hour, making flooding a thing of the past for this home.
This family in Mount Pleasant, MI had had enough of the water in their basement -- so they gave us a call. After a professional inspection we decided the best way to ensure their basement would no longer suffer from water problems would be to install our patented TripleSafe sump pump. The TripleSafe sump pump system provides three levels of protection for your basement. For normal functioning, the TripleSafe has a powerful ⅓ horsepower sump pump. The ½ hp secondary pump can discharge as much as 3,900 additional gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head. In the case of a tripped circuit, power outage, or sump failure, your TripleSafe's UltraSump Battery Backup System will kick in. Peace of mind!
As the winter season gets closer and closer, energy bills and temperatures for our homes start to come into play; one culprit is crawl space insulation. Poor crawl space insulation can affect us even without noticing it. Such effects include higher energy bills, higher relative humidity, the possibility of dust mites, and last but not least..being cold. Using a product called CleanSpace, we are able to setup a vapor barrier to bring down humidity from the ground and act as insulation. Doing this not only eliminates or reduces the effects of a poor crawl space, but it also helps to raise a homes value.
I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “Good things come to those who wait”. In some instances that quote may be beneficial, however when you’re knees deep in water and mold is surrounding you in every direction, waiting is the last thing you should do. Instead, you should give us a call. Immediately.
And that’s exactly what Steven did when he noticed that the longer he waited, the worse his crawl space was getting. Water had begun flooding his crawl space and after time, mold, mildew and other pests followed suit.
Our team of System Design Specialists devised a plan to save his Mt. Pleasant, Michigan home from deteriorating by encapsulating the area with our state-of-the-art CleanSpace products.
To ensure the integrity of Steven’s home we started by removing the water and installing CleanSpace Drainage Matting. The matting rests directly on the crawl space floor to trap moisture and direct water to your drainage system. The matting is compatible with all of our crawl space products making it cost efficient and convenient.
We then encapsulate the crawl space with CleanSpace Vapor Barrier Liner. The thick, durable, liner clings to every inch of the crawl space, guaranteeing that mold and unlikely pests stay out. When combined with the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, virtually no moisture will be present for years to come.
Fred and his wife have basement walls that were cracking and starting to bow. There was one crack that went stright across the top and another was a stair step that went from one corner to the next. The bowing has been getting much worse this year and the owners are happy to finally stabilize the walls. We used the CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcing System to stop further movement in the walls. The system does not require excavation and installs quickly.
