Ayers Basement Systems Before & After Photos

Donald found his home's block foundation completely misaligned. The damage was so bad he called Ayers for an assessment. Our resident foreman Evan inspected the area and drafted a treatment plan.

Evan and his team installed SmartJack piers. SmartJack piers are metal beams placed strategically along the structure's supportive rim joist. The bottoms are anchored into the ground with poured concrete while the tops are capped with load-bearing joints that are attached to the rim joist. The entire pier's height is adjusted till there is constant pressure being applied, reintroducing support to the entire framework. 

Donald and Meredith’s home was built in 1941. A foundation wall recently fell in, leaving a gaping hole in the side of their Carson City, MI house. The couple called Ayers Basement Systems for an inspection immediately. Our crew determined that they would need SmartJacks and Helical Piers to stabilize the foundation. 

SmartJacks are steel supports that balance the foundation of the crawlspace, lifting it to its original position. They can be adjusted so the home will never shift out of place and are anchored into the ground with poured concrete. Helical Piers are made of steel helix-shaped blades that are screwed into the soil and the piers that can be extended to the appropriate depth. They're attached to the foundation’s footing, so the weight is evenly distributed and the home is permanently sturdy.

Donald and Meredith were ecstatic when we cleared out the old mess of a fallen wall and promptly stabilized their home. They can sleep soundly at night knowing this nightmare is over and they can go back to their lives with more peace of mind. 

Norma's basement lacked waterproofing systems, making the space vulnerable to leaks. She decided that calling Ayers would be the best move to prevent water damage. Our experts inspected her basement to determine the appropriate recommendations for the space. We suggested our TripleSafe sump pump system and WaterGuard system. TripleSafe contains three pumps that fit in one durable liner. Each pump works hard to keep water leaks under control. The last pump is battery-operated, meaning it turns on if the power fails. Next, we installed WaterGuard as a drainage system to collect water leaking through the walls. This drain is installed in the subfloor and runs along the perimeter of the basement. Concrete is poured over the drainage system to ensure it blends with the space. Norma is thrilled with these waterproofing installations that protect her belongings!

We use CleanSpace, a durable plastic liner - like a pool liner - for lining dirt crawl spaces. It is perfect as a basement wall solution for stone wall basements. Because stone walls are not flat, they are not candidates for BrightWall paneling. The CleanSpace provides a vapor barrier, drains water behind it, and dramatically brightens the basement. It will have little waves in it because it comes off of a roll rather than in panels, but the CleanSpace is very durable and nearly impossible to rip.

A customer from Glenn, Michigan called us about his crawlspace because he wanted to make sure that it was fully insulated. We drove to his house and inspected his crawlspace, we then decided to install our CleanSpace technology. CleanSpace is a 20 mil thick plastic liner that fits to the crawl space to completely seal the home from the earth. Polyester cord reinforcement allows for a lot of durability, to make it last longer than the home will. This liner also contains an antimicrobial additive to prevent mold.
