Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

Robert's crawl space had mold growing on the support beams, and he wanted it removed. After researching his options, he decided to call Ayers to learn about our waterproofing solutions. Our specialists stopped by his home to evaluate the space, and they suggested installing the CleanSpace vapor barrier. CleanSpace is applied to the crawl space walls and floors to ensure encapsulation and is lined with antimicrobial material to prevent mold growth. Robert loves his clean crawl space!

After being told by an adjuster that water was leaking into his crawl space, this customer put in a call for help to a company he knew he could trust. We had done some work on the basement of another one of his properties a few years back and he was extremely satisfied with our services. Our system design specialist went for a visit and found that the issue was worse than the owner originally thought. Not only was the leaking water hurting his crawl space, it was affecting the basement, as well. The water would leak in through the crawl space walls and then flow down to the basement.

To put a stop to the leakage, the crew encapsulated both the walls and floor with the CleanSpace vapor barrier. CleanSpace is impenetrable by moisture or water vapor. Underneath the barrier is a drainage matting designed to keep water from pooling and direct it to the drain for discharge. If any water does make it through the crawl space walls, it will flow behind the vapor barrier and then be directed out by the drainage matting.

Thomas had done previous work with us but this time called us to encapsulate his crawl space. During the winter he was getting cats in there and the whole area was starting to stink. We installed the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to keep water vapor and humidity from entering the space. By doing this, it also closed off the crawl space from the outside making sure no more animals or insects could get in. Now Thomas can be sure he’s breathing in healthy and there is no moisture contributing to the deterioration of his home. 

This crawl space was under both home and exterior deck. When the owners noticed a large crack on the deck’s concrete slab, they began to get a little worried about the foundation. Our system design specialist went out for a visit and found out that the cinderblock foundation was actually starting to sink. With foundation went the floor joists in the crawl space, which was also the floor of the deck. In the after photo, you can see the solution our crew provided: the SmartJack system. The SmartJacks can be raised to whatever height levels out the floor joists above them, and they are also installed into the foundation floor to maintain that stability. No part of this crawl space or the structures that depend on it should sink again.
