Kristen in Holt, MI wanted her crawlspace encapsulated, despite the fact that there was no apparent moisture. There is absolutely nothing wrong in doing this, in fact, this is what we would recommend! Preventing future issues from happening is always a better option than trying to fix something that has already caused a great deal of damage
In terms of encapsulation, there simply isn't a better option than our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier. This durable, bright white crawl space liner installs on the walls and floors, preventing water vapor and humidity from passing through. It also halts any unwanted critters from sneaking in, because there simply aren't any cracks or holes where even the smallest of critters could fit into.
With a 25-year warranty against rips and tears, this durable liner will convert what was once an unusable crawlspace, into a legitimate storage area. And with its mold-resistant additive "UltraFresh", CleanSpace will never support mildew or mold growth on its surface.
So in terms of encapsulating your crawspace, whether you are preventing future problems from happening, like Kristen, or you are in need of current crawlspace problems to be fixed, the CleanSpace Vapor Barrier is the best option.
Kurts crawl space floor gets wet so he wanted to encapsulate the area and keep water out. We first laid down Drainage Matting which has dimples in it to allow the flow of water underneath it. The water is directed to the sump pump to the where is can discharged out of the crawl space. Next we installed CleanSpace which is a thick, durable liner that prevents water vapor and humidity from passing through. It also deters critters such a mice and roaches. We also installed the SuperSump which is engineered to help keep the area dry and healthy for extended periods of time, even in times of heavy water intrusion. Lastly we installed the SaniDry Sedona. The SaniDry is a dehumidifier which circulates dry air throughout the space, aggressively drying out your basement or crawl space. The water collected will be drained to the sump pump to continue keeping the crawl space dry. The small space makes it the perfect solution to keeping a crawl space dry and healthy!
Jasper was hoping to rid his home of this musty smell that seemed to be coming from his crawl space. After doing some digging he found Ayers helps with crawl space solutions so he gave us a call. We decided to send a crew out to his home to investigate his crawl space and detect the root of the odor. Our System Design Specialists found it would be best to install CleanSpace and SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier as these solutions would tackle the odor.
First with CleanSpace, this consists of a thick, durable plastic liner that utilizes a vapor barrier that will fight to prevent excess water or moisture development. This is also made of inorganic material which means it will prevent mold or bacteria growth. This excess moisture and water in this space was the culprit of the musty odor coming from the crawl space. This liner is placed along the crawl space floor and walls, separating your home from the soil. Additionally we installed our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier which will ensure the air is free of this gross, damp odors by drying and filtering the air. It is the world's most efficient and high-performing dehumidifier, all while costing him less to run than regular dehumidifiers.
With these systems in place Jasper's nose is thankful to breathe clean, fresh air again!
The crawl space attached to Roy and Barabara’s house was super cold so they called our team to discuss encapsulation options. Our team installed CleanSpace, an uninterrupted vapor barrier. This material is applied to the walls and floor of your crawl space. It restricts all moisture, outside air, and pests from entering your crawl space. This system creates an energy-efficient crawl space, and it also gives your crawl space a clean finish.
Customers had cold air entering their crawl space so they needed it completely sealed off. Our team insulated their rim joists. Small cracks and seams can exist around rim joists, but after insulating them all of those cracks are sealed off. Now flow is restricted keeping moisture and unwanted allergens out. Therefore, cold air won't be drifting around their house anymore.
