Moisture and humidity were both regular visitors to this Mason, MI crawl space. Not only was the moist, humid air threatening the foundation with mold growth, the air that enters into the crawl space was also traveling throughout the home. By adding insulation and an encapsulation, the crew was able to plug up the air leaks and simultaneously improve the quality of the air inside of the home. The plastic liner used for the encapsulation in the after photo is the CleanSpace vapor barrier. While CleanSpace protects the crawl space from any moisture that may try to rise from the crawl space floor, the SilverGlo Wall panels are the last line of defense against air flowing between cracks in the brick walls. The bright silver material reflects heat back to the source, improving the energy efficiency of the home, as well. Lastly, the crew filled in the last remaining gaps that weren’t covered by either the SilveGlo insulation or CleanSpace encapsulation. The foundation had begun to settle and cause a shift between the crawl space rim and the floor joists above. Using Froth Pack (the white spray in the after photo), the crew gave the last of the leaks a waterproof foam seal. With a full crawl space system working together, moist air won't be a problem in this crawl space again.
Greg called us because he wanted his dirt floor crawl space cleaned up and insulated before winter. This crawl space is very small but our team can get in most tiny places with no problem. Our CleanSpace encapsulation is installed to cover the floor and the walls. It doesn't allow water/moisture in and can help reduce energy costs. CleanSpace is also very durable and can have boxes stored on it with no problem.
This home in Mason, MI was built with a Michigan basement. It has dirt floors and block walls. It also wasn't completely dug out, only about 1/4 of the way. There was water coming in through the walls and the home was for sale so it needed to get fixed so it wouldn't hurt the resale value of the home.
Our team of experts decided the best solution to this water problem would be to install our CleanSpace system. CleanSpace works to encapsulate the entire area. It seals everything off so no outside elements can get inside such as water, bugs, dirt, moisture etc. It also makes your crawl space or basement look more appealing and not as dark and dirty.
When spring time comes, it's hard for old and outdated crawl spaces to keep up with all the precipitation that us Michiganders know and love. With a little help from Ayers, we can transform your crawl space to save energy costs, reduce humidity, as well as control those creepy crawlies who are fans of your current crawl space. Using a vapor barrier called CleanSpace, we separate the ground and your home which in turn reduced humidity. On the walls, we installed SilverGlo panels which help to insulate the space. To top it all off, we recommend a dehumidifier in the crawl space to truly elimate any chances of mold, or dust mites that are caused by humidity. In this case, we used a SaniDry Sedona to finish the job. With all of these additions, our customer can start seeing noticeable savings in energy costs.
A homeowner from Mason, Michigan, was seeking a solution for their home. A large crack had formed within a foundation wall, and it appeared to worsen. Luckily, no water was leaking into the basement, but the homeowner wanted to fix it before it declined, so he contacted Ayers. After an inspection, the team at Ayers concluded that FlexiSpan System would seal and fix the problem! After the crack in the wall was filled with a sealant, a wall covering was screwed into place on the wall. If any water leaks through the foundation, it will flow behind the FlexiSpan wall and directly to the homeowner's sump pump!
