A system design specialist of ours met with a Hale, MI homeowner over a year ago, but he wasn’t ready to commit just yet. As you can see in the before photo, the crawl space already had a tarp floor encapsulation and wall insulation, but unfortunately, those two weren’t getting the job done. When the crawl space showed no sign of improving, the homeowner called us again – ready to go ahead with the installation.
The solution seen in the after photo is our CleanSpace vapor barrier. CleanSpace is an inorganic, plastic liner that is impenetrable by moisture or vapor. The liner is tough enough to protect both the floors and wall without tearing from regular use. This crawl space now has a system it can depend on.
At Ayers no job is too big and in this case, no job is too small either. When Gail gave us a call concerning the smell rising from her 3-feet tall crawl space, our team of specialists were able to tackle the task in a matter of hours.
We were able to combat the problem by installing CleanSpace liners in combination with the SaniDry Humidifier. The CleanSpace liner is a thick, durable white liner that resembles that of a pool liner. It traps any moisture in the air from penetrating the ground ultimately keeping it dry and mold-free. Pests and other bacteria are also blocked from entering through the liner.
We also installed the SaniDry Humidifier, a high powered system that keeps the crawl space dry by sucking any remaining moisture out of the air.
In 2018 Jeff S. gave us a call when he noticed his cottage was emitting a musty smell. After searching for the culprit of the stench, Jeff discovered the source — his crawl space! We brought a team in to install a CleanSpace liner to help minimize the moisture while improving airflow and eliminating the smell.
To combat the mold, we encapsulated the area with the Clean Space Vapor Barrier system. The system is made up of liners that prevent water and dirt from affecting the rest of the home by eliminating unwanted dampness. Mold, critters, and other pests require water to survive but our state-of-the-art liners seal away all moisture. Other benefits of the Vapor Barrier include increasing home value, providing warmth, sealing odors, and more!
Paul called when he and his siblings wanted to take care of the problems in their mom's crawl space. The crawl space had vents and didn't have a sump pump, so mold and moisture problems were pervasive.
We encapsulated the crawl space with CleanSpace vapor barrier and installed a Smart Sump pump and a SaniDry dehumidifier, as well as closing the vents and putting better doors on the entrances, in order to seal off the crawl space from ambient moisture issues.
Our customers Lynn & Eugene from Houghton Lake, MI were suffering the effects of a cold and moldy dungeon below their home. The couple tried to lay down a layer of plastic to minimize their problem. To their dismay, the effort did very little to improve the circumstances. Lynn & Eugene grew tired of watching their home’s energy bills soar and began growing concern about mold growth.
Upon visiting the couple’s home and assessing their personal crawlspace needs, we devised a solution consisting of our unique CleanSpace crawlspace encapsulation system to resolve the cold and mold in the crawlspace. The CleanSpace product is a cutting edge thick durable plastic lining that fully seals off the crawlspace from the harsh elements it faces below. Next, we removed all of the moldy insulation from our new friends’ home and we replaced it with spray foam insulation that will not leave the couple susceptible to mold growth. Almost instantly Lynn & Eugene began seeing the drop in their energy bills. Eugene said he regrets not having his crawl space addressed years ago.
