Dennis called up Ayers for crawl space repair options as his current support beams were failing on him. We had a crew come out to the home for a free inspection so we could determine the best solutions. Our solutions being SmartJacks as well as CleanSpace. SmartJacks will address the cracking support beams since these are strong, steel columns that are placed on solid, steel bases installed in the sub-floor and are capable of helping hold the weight of the home. We added a support beam above that we attached to the columns. This support system will provide Dennis much needed strength and stability. Next we added CleanSpace to help keep his crawl space in top notch shape as this is a thick, plastic liner with a vapor barrier that protects against excess moisture buildup that leads to mold or bacteria. Dennis's crawl space is now well supported and clean!
We sent our team at Ayers to a home in National City, Michigan, to help a customer encapsulate his dirt crawl space. Outside air and moisture will accumulate without proper protection, leading to detrimental issues in the long run. Our suggestion to Jerry was to install CleanSpace. We placed this antimicrobial waterproof liner along the crawl space floor and walls. The liner provides a vapor barrier between the damp soil and the home. Excess moisture leads to nasty mold and bacteria growth. Jerry's crawl space will remain protected for years to come!
These homeowners called because the block foundation wall in their basement was failing. One of the first signs of a bowing wall is horizontal cracking, which is what we found in this home. Without a proper solution to stabilize the wall, the soil surrounding the home will continue to put pressure on the wall and the cracks will continue to increase in width, resulting in a failing wall.
Our team of experts installed the Geo-Lock wall anchors to stabilize the wall and hopefully move it back to its original position. To install this system, we started by digging a hole in the soil outside of the foundation wall where we placed a steel earth anchor. A steel rod was drilled into the wall and was then connected to the anchor in the ground. Finally, we installed an interior wall plate over the rod in the basement and we replaced the backfill and sod outside.
This system immediately stabilized the basement wall and has the ability to be tightened over time to shift the wall back to its original position.
The customer had water leaking into his basement through the walls and floor. This was an ongoing issue for this lakeside home. The customer had a another company install a sump pump system which was not discharging water effectively even while constantly running. We installed a perimeter drain system to capture all intrusive water and funnel it to the newly installed TripleSafe sump pump.
The customer needed help fixing their damp crawl space which had no sump pump and serious moisture issues. The owner had health problems and opted to encapsulate the crawlspace with CleanSpace vapor barrier to sell the home. To ensure that potential buyers would have peace of mind, the owner opted to install our Sedona dehumidifier to ensure the crawl space stayed dry.
