Kurt realized his basement windows didn't open wide enough for an escape from the inside. This was a serious safety hazard, so he researched his options and called Ayers for help. Our crew of experts stopped by his house and evaluated the space. They recommended installing an egress window engineered for easy escapes during emergencies. Egress windows are built to hold back heavy soil and water and include a polycarbonate safety cover designed to be stepped on without breaking. Having an emergency exit is a big weight off Kurt's shoulders!
This Midland, MI, crawl space had extensive water damage. The homeowner attempted to create a water barrier using plastic tarp but it was ineffective. As you can see on the right, we installed a CleanSpace crawl space barrier on the walls and floor together with a TripleSafe sump pump to dispel any water from the crawl space.
A customer had concrete slabs that were sinking in her back patio so she called our team. We installed PolyLevel, a system designed to fix concrete slabs that have sunk by using a new product to lift the concrete slabs back to their original level. The new product used is a polyurethane foam that expands and has a high density in order to raise the concrete. The process is quite simple and is done by drilling small holes into the concrete and then inserting the foam into the holes. Also, the PolyLevel system is waterproof and long-lasting.
Dexter and Marla's Midland MI home was built in 1941. The couple had a different company waterproof their basement about 30 years ago. Since then, their home has had significant bowing as well as vertical and horizontal cracks in the walls. Every time it rained, water would flood in. They called Ayers for a solution that would last. We came out to inspect Dexter and Marla's home and determined that they would need us to install GeoLock Anchors to correct their foundation problem.
GeoLock Anchors permanently stop foundational shifting. The anchors have 3 parts. The first part is a plate on the interior foundation wall. A steel cable is drilled through the plate into the soil directed away from the home. A second plate is anchored to the other side of the cable for maximum stabilization.
Dexter and Marla were thrilled with the installation performed by Ayers Basement Systems! They can finally put their minds at ease knowing their home is sturdy and dry for years to come.
Linda had a lot of water in her crawl space and she wanted it out with the area waterproofed so it won't happen again. She also informed us that her floors around the home were sagging. Upon inspection, we found that a main beam was broken and it needed to be replaced and the floor supported. The first thing we did was install a replacement beam and support the floors with SmartJacks. We then moved on to waterproofing the space by laying down Drainage Matting which has dimples in it to direct water towards the sump pump. We then installed the TripleSafe Sump Pump System to keep water out of the crawl space. Next we installed the CleanSpace liner that keeps humidity, pests, and water vapor out of the crawl space. We also installed the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to blow dry air throughout the area to keep it dry!
