Our customer called with a soft spot in her floor that made her worry about the state of the crawl space. We encapsulated the crawl space with CleanSpace vapor barrier, which will protect it from water damage (which can cause soft spots by warping support beams) and installed a new door cover and a SaniDry dehumidifier to keep the space dry.
Our Energy Savings Package is the perfect combination for customers looking to be more energy efficient. Much of your home’s air quality is a direct result of the condition of your crawl space. To prevent that air quality from being tarnished, it's necessary to keep humidity and moisture out and insulate the space from extreme temperatures. Unfortunately for this Sawyer, MI home, concrete block walls and dirt floors (like those in the before picture) offer very little resistance when it comes to water, air, and outside temperatures.
The crew was able to change all of that with SilverGlo wall insulation and the CleanSpace vapor barrier – two of the products included in our Energy Savings Package. The SilverGlo walls seen in the after photo will reflect heat back to its source, keeping the crawl space cool or warm depending on the season. CleanSpace is a durable plastic liner that won’t be penetrated by moisture. With the package working together, this home will save a bundle on their heating and cooling costs.
When this customer started thinking about putting her house on the market, she knew she would have to do something about the mess in her crawl space. As you can see in the before photo, the moisture that was getting into the crawl space had caused quite a few problems. The tarp that was supposed to be protecting the crawl space was covered with water, debris was everywhere, and the piers and walls were water stained.
To solve this problem, the crew installed the SmartSump (see after photo) to pump out water and encapsulated the crawl space with the moisture barrier CleanSpace. CleanSpace is the white liner that covers everything in the crawlspace including the piers, walls, and floor. The sump pump will collect all the moisture that doesn’t get through the barrier and direct it out through the discharge line. Selling this home will be much easier when potential customers see the completely encapsulated crawl space, instead of the pit that it used to be.
This home is a summer home for the owners but every summer they have problems with a damp crawl space and that gives off a mildew smell. They also said with the damp crawl space they have noticed mold growth. No one wants mold in their house, it can cause health issues, is horrible for resale and it looks awful.
The crawl space had a sump pump but it wasn't doing its job. Our team installed CleanSpace to encapsulate the space and a new sump pump. The pump installed is the King of all sump pumps, the TripleSafe. This sump pump has 3 pumps in the one liner. It also has a cover so the water that gets in stays in and isn't evaporated back into the crawl space, leaving it wet.
Alexandra needed help because her front porch was sinking and cracking. So she called our team and we installed PolyLevel. PolyLevel is a system designed to fix concrete slabs that have sunk by using a new product to lift the concrete slabs back to their original level. The new product used is a polyurethane foam that expands and has a high density in order to raise the concrete. The process is quite simple and is done by drilling small holes into the concrete and then inserting the foam into the holes. Also, the PolyLevel system is waterproof and long-lasting.
