Foundation Repair Photo Album: Stabilizing Ovid, MI Home for Generations

Richard's family has owned his Ovid, Michigan, home since the 1940s and wants to keep it in good condition for generations to come. Several years ago two of his foundation walls were replaced with block, leaving two walls that were the original stone. The mortar has seen better days and Richard wants it taken care of as soon as possible to protect the home. Richard chose Ayers Basement Systems for this huge undertaking. Once our crew came out for an inspection, we determined that Richard's foundation was in desperate need of Shotcrete.

Before Shotcrete

Richard's walls were crumbling and falling apart. This if one for two walls that were in desperate need of our Shotcrete.

During

This is the steel framework installed before we spray the Shotcrete. It adds extra support and structure to the walls.

After Shotcrete

Shotcrete is a sprayable concrete that stabilizes basement walls and fills any holes that let in unwanted water or air. Once the steel framework is built, the Shotcrete is applied through a high-pressure hose. The extra air propelling the concrete out is what makes the shotcrete able to be applied to vertical and sloping surfaces.
