Foundation Repair Photo Album: Saving a Sinking Home Addition in Caledonia MI

We were called to this home in Caledonia when the owner noticed that the new addition was starting to sink. There were cracks in the foundation and we could see that it was uneven. This was a sign of the foundaion settling and we knew just what to do. We decided to install Helical Piers too stabilize the foundation as well potentially lifting it back to the original level.

Sinking Addition

This is the addition that was added on to the home. The window is not even and the house looks as though it is moving over the foundation. This shows that the soil under the addition is settling but one side seems to be settling more than the other.

Cracks on the Foundation

This is the other side of the addition. The foundation is cracking and looks to be pulled out of the ground a little bit. This is not a good sign so if you see this happening at your home, give us a call.

Window Pressure

You can see in this picture that the top of the window is being pushed down by the upstairs floor. That is not a good thing and could cause serious issues. You can also see that the window is crooked which is also not a good sign.

Installing Piers

We installed Helical Piers to stabilize the foundation. They have a quick and efficient installation process so there is minimal disturbance to the customers. They can also potentially lift the foundation back to the original level.
