Time for a Change
This is what a Grand Rapids crawl space looked like before the family called us to make some changes for them. They had put plastic over the dirt floor to keep it clean but it was collecting moisture and causing more issues.
A Moisture Trap
As you saw in the picture before, there was plastic put down to cover the dirt ground. The plastic traps heat and moisture which then causes things to grow underneath it. This is a sign that there could be issues in your crawl space.
Fungi are Not Fun Guys in a Crawl Space
When a crawl space or basement has moisture problems and humidity then mold or fungi can start to grow. You don't want this in your home but with the antimicrobial CleanSpace liner, you don't have to worry about things like this growing anymore.
Let the Water Flow
The black mat you see in this picture is the Drainage Matting which allows for the flow of water towards the sump pump under the CleanSpace liner so that the water can be expelled from the home.
Supporting the Floors
These SmartJack Crawl Space Support Posts stabilize the floor of the main level that had been sagging. The posts can be adjusted to raise the floor back up and give the homeowner peace of mind that the floors are supported.
Finished Product
This is what the crawl space looks like after the encapsulation process is finished. You can also see the dehumidifier which does not take up much space yet still dries out the area with a very powerful motor.
