Cold Air has a Door to Enter the Crawlspace
The entrance to Mark's crawlspace was only being guarded from the outdoor elements by a folding door consisting of a sheet of plywood. This was certainly an energy efficiency issue and allowing cold air into this couple's crawlspace.
A Cold Crawlspace will Cause a Cold Home
Nearly 1/3 of the air down here in Mark's crawlspace will make its way up to the main level of our friends' home. Let's just say him and his wife must feel freezing cold!
SilverGlo is an Effective Energy Efficiency Solution
Mark and his wife elected for us to install SilverGlo wall paneling. SilverGlo panels are constructed very differently than other types of insulation. These panels contain tiny graphite particles that permeate its foam insulation, this is what gives the panel that silver shine. These tiny particles serve a functional purpose besides just looks, they reflect heat and lower the material's conductivity for superior R-value insulation.
The Everlast Crawlspace Door will Last Forever
Our friend and his wife found the Everlast door to be a perfect crawlspace entrance solution. EverLast crawlspace doors are made from ½-in.-thick PVC plastic that is just about indestructible. Unlike wood crawl space doors, EverLast doors will never warp, crack, shrink or require maintenance or painting. An air and water seal is certain, thanks to the heavy-duty weather stripping that comes with each EverLast door.
What A Difference the CleanSpace Makes
The CleanSpace encapsulation system has now been installed in our friends' home. This system will begin improving the energy efficiency of their home almost immediately.
The SaniDry Dehumidifier is an Asset to any Crawlspace
The SaniDry installed in Mark and his wife's home will control the relative humidity in their crawlspace and promote healthy air throughout their home.
Spray-Foam Insulation will Seal the Deal in this Crawlspace
To complete our friend's crawlspace energy efficiency makeover; we incorporated the use of spray foam insulation. This insulation will act as a barrier against insects and weather-related conditions.
