This crawl space had several issues. There was definitely moisture getting into the crawl space and it had a musty smell. Crawl space vents meant to help circulate air and keep the area dry were probably only making the issue worse. Rather than air traveling in one vent and out the other, air traveled in all of the vents and then circulated up into the home. As warm air entered the crawl space and was cooled, moisture would settle under the home. We were able to help by installing our CleanSpace moisture barrier, SilverGlo insulation for energy efficiency, a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to keep safe humidity levels, and a SmartSump system to help remove collected moisture from the space. The SaniDry Sedona is an incredibly efficient and energy star rated dehumidifier that helps keep the space at safe humidity levels. Moisture removed from the air is deposited directly into the sump system which removes the water from the crawl space and deposits it a safe distance from the home.
