Falling Insulation And Thin Vapor Barrier
Fiberglass Insulation like this works best in enclosed spaces like wall cavities, not crawl spaces. The insulation gets wet, air moves right through it, and the paper face becomes food for mold to grow.
Oxidation A Sign Of Moisture
Oxidation on the copper pipes is a sure sign of moisture in the air. This will require a dehumidifier to help make sure the air is dry and safe.
Mold In The Crawl Space
The white substance on the support beam appears to be mold. This is a product of water vapors in the air and a high moisture content in the building materials.
Insulating The Crawl Space
A soft layer of TerraBlock insulation on the ground creates a break between the ground and the rest of the crawl space. SilverGlo insulation on the walls helps to reflect heat back into the home keeping floors warmer in the winter.
CleanSpace Material Installed
Our durable CleanSpace material provides and effective moisture barrier, creating separation from any harmful moisture and any building materials. It's strong and hard to rip and it really brightens the space up.
Floor Drain Installed
This floor drain creates a space for any moisture to drain out of the space and leach back into the soil below safely. In the background, spray foam seals cracks and the rim joists to keep the space completely closed off to the outside, giving us maximum control of the environment under the home.
SuperSump And Dehumidifier Protect Crawl Space
The SuperSump system removes moisture from the crawl space quickly and efficiently. The SaniDry Sedona is highly effective in removing moisture from the air and directing it to the SuperSump system for safe removal.
Super Sump Discharge Line Installed
The SuperSump system in the crawl space will pump the water a safe distance away from the home through the discharge line. The LawnScape outlet at the end of the discharge line blends with the lawn and is easy to mow around.
IceGuard Protects Against Backups
The IceGuard fixture along the SuperSump discharge line protects in case water freezes and blocks the discharge during cold months. The fixture gives any water being pumped out a safe escape.
Preparing For The New Door
Wood was installed to frame out the entrance of the crawl space. This gave us something to screw an airtight door into for a solid seal, helping to keep unwanted air and water vapors out.
Crawl Space Door Installed
This crawl space door is airtight which protects against warm humid air that may enter the crawl space depositing moisture under the home.
Finished Crawl Space Looks Great
The finished crawl space is so much brighter and cleaner. Even the columns under the home are wrapped in our CleanSpace material for the greatest protection.
