Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Stabilizing a Leaking Crawl Space in Gaylord, MI

When our customer first called, he just wanted his crawl space waterproofed - there was water leaking in through the walls and the whole place was wet. But sometimes waterproofing isn't what's needed to stop a leak - it's all structural.  There were actual holes and gaps in the walls that were allowing water to come through, and the amount of water had led to cracking joists and support beams. As wood gets waterlogged, it starts to splinter and break apart, threatening the structural integrity of the home it's supporting. This wet crawl space actually did not need waterproofing or encapsulation - instead, we installed SmartJack support posts and sistered beams onto all of the support beams and joists. We also built out the walls of the home around the perimeter at ground level to prevent further influx of water.
