Crumbling Walls in Stone Basement
This section of the basement essentially needed new walls - the existing walls were crumbling and the support beams were rotting and not very reliable. Shotcrete was sprayed over a structure installed on the existing walls to create new walls in place.
Uninsulated Crawl Space Leads to Cold Floors
This crawl space was poorly supported and also had absolutely zero insulation. As a result, the floors upstairs were always freezing. In addition to those issues, the customers were also having new HVAC installed and asked us to create space for new runs.
Inefficient Sump Pump Doesn't Keep Basement Dry
You can have a million sump pumps, but it doesn't matter if they aren't tied into some sort of waterproofing system. Otherwise, the water never gets to them and just sits in your basement.
WaterGuard Installation in Progress
By installing a drainage system around the perimeter of the basement, we can ensure that the water is collected and funneled to the sump pump, where it can be discharged outside.
CleanSpace and FrothPak Insulate Crawl Space
A shot from inside the crawl space. We installed CleanSpace vapor barrier in the entire crawl space to protect it from the outside and therefore keep the house protected, and used FrothPak spray foam insulation at the rim joists and other hard to reach areas for another layer of insulation and protection.
Front Wall and Porch are Unsupported and In the Way
First off, the access point to the crawl space is under this porch. Yeah. Secondly, there was no support under this load-bearing wall at the front of the house. We removed the porch to create a better access point, and used Shotcrete and SmartJacks to ensure this wall was supported and eliminate the sloping floors upstairs.
SmartJacks and New Beams Stabilize Crawl Space
A combination of new support beams and SmartJacks stabilized the crawl space and eliminated the sagging floors upstairs.
SmartJacks Provide Extra Protection
In addition to reinforcing the beams, adding SmartJacks ensures that your foundation is stable and reliable.
The Wet Basement That Started it All
Our customers knew there was a lot going on under their home, but it wasn't until the basement started flooding that they called.
Removing the Porch for Crawl Space Access
Here's what was behind the porch steps. Notice the lack of structural support for the house.
Visible Space in Basement Roof
You should not be able to see outside from your basement when you aren't looking out a window. Ever.
