Uneven, Unstable Ada, MI Driveway Restored with PolyLEVEL
Challenge
Richard and Lisa called because their driveway was becoming undrivable. The concrete slabs were separating and sinking, creating both an uneven surface and causing sand to come up through the gaps every time it rained. Oh, the joys of tracking sand into your house with none of the fun of a day at the beach!
In addition to the slabs separating from each other and causing gaps just the right size to twist your ankle, the entire driveway had sunk below the level of the garage, which surely made for an interesting drive into or out of the garage each day.
Given that it was becoming more of a hazard than a driveway, Richard and Lisa called us.
Solution
First, it's important to know how PolyLEVEL works. A series of holes are drilled in the sinking slab and polyurethane foam is injected, allowing the slab to be lifted and leveled. After everything is in place, the holes are filled with concrete and the slab is as good as new.
That process is exactly what we did here. Each sinking slab was drilled and raised with our polyurethane foam until it was level with the surrounding slabs (and in one case, the garage), creating an even, level surface. Richard and Lisa no longer have to worry about blowing a tire (or an ankle) because of their uneven driveway, and the sand can stay underneath the concrete where it belongs.
