Basement Waterproofing Photo Album: Allowing a Leaky Basement to Finally Dry

Karen noticed that her basement was leaky whenever it rained or was damp. She contacted Ayers and allowed our resident foreman Bruce to inspect the area and draft a treatment plan. Bruce prescribed a WaterGuard drainage system to help control excess water, a CleanSpace lining to protect from future water damage, and treated the area with a powerful dehumidifier.

CleanSpace

CleanSpace is an antimicrobial lining that is placed on every flat surface of a home's crawl space. CleanSpace provides a protective barrier between the home's vulnerable material and any possible moisture inside the home. Moisture in the home is a danger because it can invite microorganisms that consume organic material like wood (wood found in the support works of a home). If too much wood is degraded then the home's support is compromised and a major risk factor. 

Dehumidifier

Moisture in the air is a major risk to the home. Moisture can invite micro-organisms into the home that consume organic materials like the wood found in most homes' Support works. This process weakens the home's integrity risking the safety of the home. Moisture also invites mold spores that can risk the occupants' health directly as well as indirectly.

WaterGuard

WaterGuard is a system of draining channels that are connected to the home's sump pump. The channels are installed under the foundational floor and covered with poured concrete, making it invisible to the naked eye. The channels lead to an outlet pipe that takes the water far away from the home's foundation, depositing the water in a safe location.
